Front-End Engineering Intern

StratiFi is looking for a talented and experienced Frontend Engineer to join our team as an intern. As a small, lean fintech startup, we are looking for a someone who is a data-driven user-advocate, fluent in turning complex designs and functions into useable products on the web, and comfortable dealing with organizing and displaying data. As the primary Frontend Engineer you will have an opportunity to have a huge impact creating a innovative, cutting edge product that goes beyond the traditional expectations of an online investing experience.

 

You will be part of the engineering team and help develop the product & user experience

You will be at the center of front-end product development: defining/shaping features, code design, implementation, and testing

You will work closely with our designer to build beautiful pages that simplify complex data, items, and concepts (think educating the public about options) for customers

You will architect scalable and performant front-end systems for a complex web application

 

You have 1-2 years of experience

You have expert experience in JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, & ReactJS; ideally in the context of a large scale engineering project

You have a mastery of ReactJS & Bootstrap

You have a passion for UX and implementing pixel-perfect visual designs (responsive!)

You have experience with front-end JavaScript automated testing/TDD

You have a solid understanding of front-end performance

You can review design, give feedback for usability and technical feasibility

You are self-motivated and comfortable working in ambiguity, going above and beyond what was asked. We are a growing startup and a significant amount of your work will be self-directed.

You are genuinely curious and take pride in understanding and discussing complex topics (Whether it may discussing a new option strategy we’re trying to roll out, the impacts of Trump presidency, or the amount of candy it’ll take to make a grizzly bear fall asleep)

 

You have worked at or with a finance company or on a number/data heavy product; comfortable working on organizing and displaying large amounts of data

You are up-to-date with latest frontend technologies, tools, and trends

You have experience with agile/SCRUM methodologies (JIRA)

You have a degree of full-stack experience/understanding

You have a BS degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience
